I'll keep running....
Because it gives me perspective.
Now I realize my problems aren't so big.
My life is pretty great afterall.
And a mile is a lot longer than it seems in the car.
5 miles... just under a mile to the beach from my sister's new house then another 4ish on the beach and finished up to 5 on the run back then walked about half a mile for a nice cooldown in this FINALLY warm and sunny California weather!
started on the Bob Jones Trail in Avila and took that up to Avila Beach then ran along the road all the way up to Port San Luis to the end of the pier and back. Beautiful weather and amazin views...sad I'll be leaving the beach tomorrow noght and heading back to the snow, bit I do miss good old Boston... 1:08:02
2.33 miles in 18:03 barefoot on the beach for the last time... time to go back to Boston and all that snow. ankles are a little sore, probably because i have been running with mo shoes and haven't used my ankle braces in volleyball since the summer... getting them strong!
1.3 freezing cold miles in the dark with Kris in just over 10 minutes. Took the red eye home from Cali and was planning to go right to work but didn't have it in me and Kris wasn't working so I took the day off and napped a bit and ran a bunch of errands.... then forgot I still had to run so we bundled up (but not quite enough!!) and went for a quick one around the block. Kris was great to come out with me so I didn't have to freeze alone!
2 miles in 15:48. Once again another late night cramming in a run... bundled up because i was so cold running last night and tonight i was sweating! only did 2 because of the big vb tourney tomorrow and a 14 miler planned for sunday
so it was more of a walk really than a run, but did 1.5 on the way to the T to go to Hannah's marathon fundraiser yoga class. Did 90 mins of yoga at South Boston Yoga
4 miles on the treadmill.... my right quad is still really bothering me, but stretching, foam rolling, nothing works! I think it might actually be a really tight hip flexor so I am going to try to do some good work on those.
5 miles on the treadmill plus another 1.25 warmup/cooldown. Pretty good pace, kept bumping it up... quad is still bothering me but i foam rolled my hip flexors and ITs good before and it didnt bother me as much
womens b- volleyball tournament. I finally found my swing again! was crushing balls and played some seriously awesome defense! Felt great minus the tequila induced headache... i remember now why i dont drink
Brought Kris to his volleyball tournament in Wedt Newton and left the car with him and ran the 9 miles home. My quad is still bad, felt like I was running slow but 9 mi in 1:10:57 for 7:53 pace and considering some pretty good hills i guess it wasnt as slow as it felt...
another mile slow and hobbly... and coed 6s vb.... 5 matches, leg was ok for that for jumping but i was a little slow of defense, it is hard to take that initial step, especially on a short ball over
